Our Ginger, Our Story

We are John and Elisabeth. We've lived in the Nokomis community for over 25 years. We cherish our community and strive to pour that local passion into everything we do.  While our backgrounds are diverse, it is Elisabeth's heritage that sparked the creation of Root Bwoy Ginger Sodas.

Root Bwoy Ginger Sodas capture a rich, multicultural family legacy rooted in the diverse heritage of the Caribbean—blending African, Indian, English, and Latin traditions. Inspired by stories around the dinner table  on Sunday afternoons and the historic 1950s Windrush Generation journey from the Caribbean to Britain, this pays tribute to her parents' long journey through work, study, and travel.  Using global flavors  from Guyana, Jamaica, and Central America, every bottle is a story of identity, migration, and culinary exploration.  Enjoy a taste of our history!

Our Mission and Values

To engineer vibrant, genuine drinks uniting the sharp bite of organic ginger with Caribbean gastronomic legacies. We go beyond making high-end beverages; we uphold ancestral traditions, connect different eras, and encapsulate the relentless spirit of heritage and exploration for every single customer.

We strive to be the premier ginger beverage for consumers desiring genuine depth—delivering the soul, pulse, and strength of Caribbean life to homes and social events throughout the local metropolitan area.

Deep Roots, Global Flavors

Our Twin Meanings

Root is about the real ginger we squeeze and the family trees that give us our flavor. It is a mix of nature and ancestry.

That Rude Bwoy Energy

We celebrate the 'Rude Bwoy'---those cool, rebellious Jamaicans who brought great music and amazing style to the world in the '60s, '70s, and '80s.

Cool Sips Mix

We take these lively stories and add a bubbly fizz for a refreshing drink that is totally full of island soul.

What is Bwoy?

In Jamaican patois, ‘Bwoy’ simply means ‘boy.’ For us, it is a fun nod to our heritage, representing brotherhood, pride, and a whole lot of personality.

Rude Bwoy Repeat

Our spirit is inspired by the iconic Rude Boys and the electric Two-Tone ska movement, where sharp suits met rebellious beats to unite cultures on the dancefloor.
